Integra 'A Beauty' Raves Pinkney After First Test
Dave Pinkney declared Motorbase Performance’s Honda Integra “a beauty” after shaking it down for the first time as the Kent team prepares for its first season in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Motorbase, run by the experienced Dave Bartrum from its workshop in Wrotham, will make its BTCC debut at its home track of Brands Hatch on 9 April when the championship lines up for round one of the 2006 season. The event, like all ten BTCC meetings this year, will receive live television on ITV1.

Yesterday (Monday), Pinkney got his hands on the Integra for the first time in a test at Snetterton, Norfolk. The Honda has come from Team Halfords which last year clinched the BTCC title with
the car.

“She’s a beauty, she’s lovely,” Pinkney told btcc.net. “The car does exactly what you ask of it. It’s so well sorted.

“The day was spent learning about the car, not going for times although even without pushing we managed a 1m14.3s lap time in the morning when the track was still a little bit damp. It’s nothing special compared to the BTCC lap record but for a shakedown we were chuffed to
bits with it.

“The only thing we didn’t get quite right is my seating position – I still think the steering wheel is too close to me, but we’ll adjust that at the next test.”
