Pinkney's high-profile football role

Dave Pinkney has been appointed as Championship football league side Luton Town’s new chairman, it was confirmed earlier today.

Pinkney, who races for the A-Tech Alfa Romeo team in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, has taken up his position at the club with immediate effect.

The 49-year-old, who lives just five miles from the club’s ground in nearby Harpenden, said:
“Being a Luton supporter since the age of 14 I’m delighted to become chairman of a club with
such a proud heritage.

"I look forward to taking the club into a new era.”

Luton, nicknamed The Hatters, currently lies bottom of the Championship
